Statement from the Round Valley Tribal Council Regarding the Death of Audrey Rose Card

The Round Valley Tribal Council extends our deepest condolences to the family of Audrey Rose Card, whose life was tragically taken in a recent act of violence. Our hearts are with her loved ones, friends, and all who are grieving this profound loss.

Audrey was a member of our community, and her passing has caused tremendous pain throughout Round Valley. We stand with her family during this devastating time and ask the community to surround them with compassion, privacy, and support as they navigate their grief.

The Tribal Council firmly denounces all acts of violence in our community. These tragedies harm not only individuals and families, but the spirit and wellbeing of our entire Tribal community. We remain committed to building a safer, healthier, and more peaceful Round Valley for all our people.

We also ask our Tribal members and residents to allow law enforcement to conduct a full and thorough investigation. This is a difficult moment, and we urge everyone to refrain from speculation, retaliation, or actions that could escalate tensions or interfere with justice. The best way we can honor Audrey’s memory is by supporting due process, maintaining community safety, and caring for one another.

The Round Valley Tribal Council will continue to work closely with local, Tribal, and federal partners to ensure that justice is pursued and that resources are available for those affected by this tragedy.
