TANF Caseworker

General Responsibilities:

The Round Valley Tribal TANF Program serves needy members of the Round Valley Indian Tribes residing in Mendocino County with cash assistance and supportive services.  

Applicant will provide intake services for on-going case Management Services. This would include coaching and providing supportive services towards client empowerment. Assisting case participants to move into a positive direction towards self-sufficiency. The Case Worker shall ensure the participants right to privacy and ensure appropriate confidentiality when information about the participant is released to others. The Case Worker is the RVTT staff member that is primarily responsible for interaction with participants and will be responsible for performing the following important tasks: Maintain a self-sufficiency outline for the participant and participants family. Provides home visits when necessary; Initiates court appearances as needed to assist participants; Makes child abuse reports when necessary; Works with participants and agencies relative to domestic violence cases; Performs intervention services when participants are identified as being under the influence of alcohol or drugs on a regular basis and intervenes based on the established RVTT For Cause Participant Drug Testing Procedures.

Qualifications Include:

Associate of Arts Degree preferred in Social Science or another related field.  High School Diploma and six (6) months related experience required. Applicant must possess a valid California driver’s license (DMV Printout required) and pass a pre-employment drug screening. Associate of Arts Degree preferred in Social Science or another related field.  High School Diploma and six (6) months related experience required. Knowledge of database software and word processing software and contact management systems.

TANF CASE WORKER

TANF Maintenance/Janitorial

General Responsibilities:

Applicant will maintain the grounds of the TANF administrative offices, will include mowing, trimming, landscaping and routine outside maintenance work. Will be responsible for minor repairs of plumbing utilities and water components and provide maintenance. Such maintenance and repairs shall include but not be limited to window replacement, building decoration (inside and outside) both temporary and permanent, lighting fixture replacements. Applicant will maintain grounds-keeping machinery such as lawn mowers, weed eaters and other power tool, and shall be responsible for vehicle preventative maintenance for tribal fleet vehicles. Must perform inside sanitation engineering duties as assigned such as stripping and waxing floors and heavy cleaning of carpets. Must order and receive supplies through procurement protocols, to include trash bags, paper products, cleaning products and other related materials. Will perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications Include:

Applicant must be able to work independently. Have a general knowledge of sanitation and safety standards and be 18 years or older. Must follow instruction to complete work duties.

Applicant will need to submit a copy of their High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

Must pass a drug test screening, background check and possess a California Driver’s License.

Maintenance Worker

General Responsibilities:

The Maintenance Worker will be responsible to assist with a wide variety of facilities and property maintenance/custodial duties for the Business Park, Mercantile Building Big Oak Ranch, and other properties. The maintenance worker will assist in performing the maintenance, repair, and replacement of the buildings and related, equipment, as well as mechanical, electrical, water supply and plumbing systems. The incumbent also provides technical assistance regarding the quality and performance of interior and exterior machinery, buildings, and other facilities.

Qualifications Include:

Knowledge of HVAC plumbing, electrical and water systems; Competency using hand tools, power tools, etc.; Ability to read technical repair manuals, blueprints, parts catalogs, etc.; Strong communication and negotiation skills; Ability to complete all the tasks efficiently/effectively; Ability to adapt to change and unforeseen circumstances; Basic computer skills; Performs carpentry, flooring, painting, exterior building work, plumbing, electrical work.

ADDITIONAL REQUIRMENTS:

General Responsibilities:

Qualifications Include:

Requires a four – year degree in Social Work, Counseling or Psychology from an accredited University plus two years’ work experience. Personnel Director

General Responsibilities:

Under the direction of the Tribal Administrator, the Personnel Director will be responsible to assist with a wide variety of employee and labor relations activities. The Personnel Director shall be responsible for assuming that the employment and retention practices exercised by the Tribe are kept consistent with current and federal law. The Personnel Director shall supervisor the personnel selection committee directly to council. The Personnel Director shall be responsible for mediating any matters related to personnel hiring and retention practices, and for reporting such matters to the Tribal Administrator. The Personnel Director shall coordinate employee evaluations with program supervisors, shall maintain the Temporary pool employment file and shall be responsible for keeping all personnel records current and accurate, P/D will be responsible for seeing out and encouraging skilled, trained and experienced personnel to apply for positions withing the tribe.

Qualifications Include:

Must have three years’ experience working with employment development and training, business management, tribal government or a combination of education and experience. Applicant will mediate and/or mitigate personnel and programmatic issues and have a working knowledge of employment laws and other compliance issues. Must maintain strong interpersonal, verbal/written communications skills, including proficiency in developing and delivering presentation. Applicant will need to maintain a high level of confidentiality with high discretion. The Personnel Director will need to have a valid Driver’s License, reliable vehicle, and proof of auto insurance. General Responsibilities:

This person will work under the supervision of the Tribal Business Administrator, and/or in his/her absence the Tribal President. IES requires difficult and responsible secretarial work to relive the Tribal Business Administrator of a wide verity of administrative office details. Maintain a follow up system reflecting deadline dates for submission of information comments, etc., requested of Tribal Office. This person shall attend all regular and special meetings of the Round Valley Indian Tribal Council. IES shall keep a full report of all proceedings of each regular and special meeting of the Tribal Council.

This person shall attend to all the correspondence of the Tribal Council under the direction of the Business Administrator. Prepare agendas for each regular and special meetings of the Tribal Council.

Qualifications Include:

Two (2) years college with business as a major preferred, and/or four (4) years experience in work which demonstrated possession of the ability to perform secretarial work above the trainee/work experience level, or served as personal clerical assistant or aide to a professional, technical, supervisory, administrative, executive or similar employer. Must have a definite demonstrated background of maintaining confidentially of program activates, personnel actions and proposed or projected program modifications.

Must maintain a business like relationship with other staff members and any representative from other agencies.

Requires awareness and taken appreciation of Indian traditions, customs, and social economic needs and the organizations consisting of numerous tribes with varied cultures which require tact, courtesy, discretion, resourcefulness, and good judgment in handling functions of the sensitive nature. Must have knowledge in understanding and interpreting contracts and agreements. etc. Possesses working knowledge of funding agencies that work with the Round Valley Indian Tribal Council and various other programs under the auspices of the Tribal Council. Must have knowledge of writing tribal resolutions and a general knowledge of writing contracts and legal agreements.

Surveillance Officer

General Responsibilities:

Responsible for monitoring the Hidden Oaks Casino’s physical interior and exterior areas via surveillance cameras and other hidden devices as well as all Casino gaming and money-handling activities with the purpose of protecting company assets.

     Applicant will be part of assisting in the operation of the Surveillance equipment

     utilized in monitoring casino gaming, money handling activities, internal and external

     which includes but, is not limited to monitors, switchers, digital recording, computers,

     and keyboards. Perform periodic checks on equipment reporting any malfunctions,

     experience. You must have excellent written and oral communications skills with the

     ability to write accurate and concise reports. An attention to detail through excellent

     observation skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks for a fast-paced environment.

     Applicant must be capable of sitting and working in a confined space for long periods of

   

     time with low-light and extreme temperature conditions. Must be able to respond to oral
