Tribal Real Estate Manager

CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt
SALARY: $18 per hour
SHIFT: Monday to Friday, 8:00 A.M. to 5:00P.M.
REPORT TO: Administrative Office

Duties and Responsibilities

  • For Tribal Land the Tribal Realty Officer will conduct research, establish proper documentation and procedures, coordinate communications between clients and third parties, and utilize all available resources to:
  • Resolve land disputes regarding boundaries, landholdings, or rights.
  • Fulfill client requests and help clients with conveyances, estate planning, probate preparation, and all other items pertaining to tribal trust asset management.
  • Preparation and completion of all forms related to trust asset management (fee to trust applications).
  • Prepare home site leases, business lease and other leases or permits affecting tribally held lands for approval by the Tribal Council.
  • Create or adopt and work closely with BIA regarding other sources to plan a deal with the backlog of Tribal land applications.
  • Participation in development of Tribal land use planning and development standards.
  • Processing all Tribal land assignments of a commercial/community nature.
  • Supply all BIA requested supporting documents required for issuance oflease/permits affecting Tribally held lands in accordance with 25 CF and all applicable acts as cited therein; and following all applicable act/guidelines of the National Environmental Protection Act (NEPA).
  • Coordinate all needed Tribal land surveys.
  • Prepare all documents pertaining to grant of right of way or service line agreements affection Tribally held lands in accordance with 25 CFR and all applicable acts as cited therein; and follow all applicable acts/guidelines of NEPA
  • Prepare and process all Tribal Land assignments documents in accordance with the duly enacted Tribal Assignment Ordinance.
  • May assist Natural Resources Department in Process Grazing Permits for approval by the Tribal Council in accordance with 25 CFR 166.
  • Other duties as assigned by the administration.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Public Administration, Community Development, Planning or have a combination of education and progressively responsible experience working with land management and tribal government.
  • Applicant must demonstrate positive communication skills, excellent writing skills and research skills.
  • Applicant must have Geographic Information Systems analysis skills and background.
  • Applicant must be computer literate and show demonstrated ability with a variety of software applications.
  • Applicant must be able to travel as necessary as approved by the supervisor.
  • Knowledge in Public Land Surveys.
  • Knowledge concerning land Appraisals.
  • Current Real Estate knowledge a must.
Other Requirements:
  1. Must possess a valid California Driver's License, dependable vehicle, and auto insurance; and
  2. Must pass pre-employment drug screening and agree to submit to an random drug test
